Consider using a 700r4 and an NP241C transfer case... Still driver side drop, and it's got a nice low gear to it. Plus it's the same case GM used in a lot of the early 90's 3/4 ton and some 1 ton trucks, pretty durn reliable. That's what I did anyway!

Haha! Yeah, we had to take pictures of me and my wife and buddy all posing in the emptiness.

Just wait till its all filled up. The 350 sits in there so nicely, it really looks like it was made to go there.

So i have my motor, tranny, and my newly built hybrid T-case. (231c/j). Got my motor mounts today, tranny mount tomorrow. OH and i finally painted under my hood and my fire wall since i hated the red with the bright silver...

Hybrid T-case... Easy to do guys. Chevy 231c front case, Jeep 231j rear case, JB conversion SYE insides.

One question i do have is what are ppl running for Radiators?

I have looked at a bunch on ebay that are direct bolt for the conversion, but at $250 for the automatic with $50 shipping that kinda hurts...

I am using a stock replacement Jeep I6 rad. Looking into the specs it has equal rows and more surface area than the corvette of the year of my 350. And my 350 is definitely not tuned as highly as the corvette so I figured it would be OK.

For my 350, the I6 rad is fine, I have an electric fan I flick on when it gets warm. I only ever need it on in slow traffic or crawling off-road.

Do you have a highly tuned, high horsepower 350 or is it just an old stocker like mine? The built ones might need more.

well kevin, my motor is a non stock corvette motor. But the only thing that has been done right now is the bottom end. Eagle H beam rods and flat top pistons, new bearings, blue printed and matched crank. Nothing on top. stock heads and intake, which i wanna change one i get everything up and running to get the bugs worked out...

Do you have enough clearance for a HEI dizzy where the motor sits now? I would love to see a pic of the mounts from the top, like you were standing on the frame and shooting a pic to the floor if it isn't too much trouble.

I am wondering how much clearance there is. i will be doing a similar swap, v-8, 241c, 700r4, and am concerned about exhaust clearance on the front diff and driveshaft. I am torn between a set of old ram horns from a 365 hp 327 or a set of block hugger headers.

Thanks and good luck, it is looking good.

That is not the final fitment for that motor. Its just a mock up for the pic... Once its all back together this weekend, i will make final adjustments. There is a freaken TON of room for everything, trust me.

And the bottom of the motor is no where near the front axle or steering. I dont know about the drive shaft yet, but from what it looked from today there will be plenty of room!!

And ill get some other shots of the motor mounts. Look em up on Novak... they are expensive but worth every penny!!

Well i been busy ordering parts, and the shop has been mad busy so i havent had much time for my jeep. But here is some updates...

The corvette motor all cleaned up and fresh paint.

My 700r4 all cleaned and painted as well.

My new 1 wire alternator.

My new summit RPM intake (idle-6,000rpm) and matched 600cfm elctric choke carb.

Im still waiting for my new double roller timing set with front cover to come...
And my new HEI distributor.

All i got left is a fuel pump and a 168 tooth starter... They are ordered and not here yet.
