sagging springs

first of all think collage budget

i have a stock 93 with a 2.5 the springs are starting so sag and the jeep sits funny. i think it would look allot better if it was lifted about an inch or two form what it is at right now, i am going to keep running 225/75r15's for the next 3-4 years or untill i can afford to gear it (i need some power out of the 4 banger)

i think the best way to do it is those hi jacker shocks that are pumped up, b/c they are adjustable and help out for towing.

Does anyone have any other options or recomendations.

il post a pic later today when i get back

4WD add a leaf is just the leafs, retaining clip, and center pins. This is about 50 bucks a pair. If you want shocks, steering stabilizer, and the add a leafs go with the Rancho. I did the 4WD brand because I could piece together my rig a bit at a time rather that $300 all at once. I would suggest at least replacing your bushings with the greasable one at the same time. This will help take some of the bounce out of the rig.

No money? Want an inch or two? Sounds like me when I was in the same situation... Sound like you need a Add-A-Leaf kit. Only thing is, I got the lift but still have no money!!
This is a good budget boost, do it!

Be careful of add-a-leafs because their ride quality is pretty rough.

Other options: body lift, small shackle lift, also look to overload shock/spring assembly, or autoparts which have coil over shock overload springs(go over your stock shocks). Any of these options iwll lift for cheap.

if your jeep leans beforehand it will probably lean afterward

The Loony Scientist has a point, if it sits funny now, with an add a leaf on all four corners it may sit funny after. However, it is probably just a weak spring or two. If your jeep is different front to rear... not so bad. If it is different side to side... look at new springs all together.

For ride quality, the polybushings with grease fittings and the longer shackles smooth it out considerably. (only a $120 upgrade depending on brands and dealers) I like the ride I have, I'm thinking of asking to be in the chocolate milk commercials... the ones where people do crazy things to shake up their chocolate milk. Ride in my jeep and make a milk shake!!! Seriously it is not that bad. All lifts will cause some bounce, just depends on your tolerance.

it don't really lean. it just seems like it is weighed down evenly front and back and side to side. plus the bumper that i have makes the jeep look tiny. the hardtop and subs might also have something to do with it.

but i have herd bad things about shackel lifts and i wonder if the add a leif is going to be too much i dont want to have to shim the axle or something. also my shocks are gone anyway, i am replacing all 5 (stabilizer) soon.

With the 1.25" shackle and the add a leaf I had no issues with shiming the axle. I have about 2.25" of lift now that the suspension has settled.

What about using a front spring pack?

I have a 91 YJ w/ a 4" lift & when my rear started to sag (courtesy of having a hard top during the winter and a speaker box instead of a trunk) I got the rear springs replaced. So I wouldn't have as many problems, I had them put a 4" lift spring pack that would normally go in the front on the rear. Works great so far!
