Is this safe for a stock jeep
I just installed 15x10 rims with 3.5 back space. Tires are 31x12.5x15 BF Goodrich. Tires stick out about 7 inches past the stock flairs. I can replace the flairs. But changing the width of the stock jeep will this be safe on stock axles and studs?

There will be added stress on your hubs, but it will take some time before you notice any signs. 'Sides, then you'll have a reason to upgrade.

Shouldn't hurt anything initially. Over time, you'll notice excessive wear. If your really concerned and are running D30s or something, you can always upgrade a little to D35s or an 8.8.

31x12.50??? Sure they are not 31x10.50? 31x10.50's would look gay on 10" wheels unless you have a chain steering wheel, chee chee balls and a velvet dash.

Yes these are BF Goodrich KO 31x12.5x15 BF Goodrich recommends 9 to 11 inch width rim.

I've never seen this size in a BFG. I double checked their web site and the AT KO is not available in a 31x12.50x15. Maybe you need thicker glasses.

Thanks everyone! I bought the tires used. I dont think BFG makes them anymore. Anyways I might sell the wheels and get 15x8 and keep the tires. I got a great deal.

They're out there. Do a google search for that size and you'll see quite a few people talking about them. Granted they are very uncommon

Towards the bottom of the page the Xtarrain is that size for example

Um...the D30 is the stock front axle, D35 is the stock rear, and not at all an upgrade from the D30...The 30 is stronger than the 35. Upgrades would start at a D44, then 8.8, etc...

they must not make them anymore then like u said. BFG does make that size currently in the mud terrain tho. procomp also makes that size for there all terrain, mud and xterrains, along with superswamper boggers, thornbirds and radial ssr's. but imo 12.5" is to wide for a 31" tall tire, makes them look to fat and stocky, a 11.5 or 10.5 is more proportional imo.
