What kind of locker is year specific?

All D44's are basically the same, the only difference is when you go to lower gears (like 4.10's) then you have to get a new carrier or thick gears.

The year doesn't matter as long as you know you need the 30 spline, 3.92 and numerically higher version

If you "need" a year just pick one between '87 and '91
