Runva winch?

Anyone ever heard or dealt with these?...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/10000-LB-Two-Speed-12V-Winch-With-Accessories-By-Runva_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp4634Q2ec0Q2em14Q2 el1262QQhashZitem3ca3bc68cfQQitemZ260445071567QQpt ZMotorsQ5fAutomotiveQ5fTools

I've been watching their auctions, and done a little research on opinions and reveiws, have found no negative, even know a guy localy who has a 3000# winch from them for his 4 wheeler and is VERY happy with it.

Check the specs out, looks to be a good quality.
I'm NOT paying 850.00 plus 75.00 shipping,i've been watching their auctions and they always have at least one auction going with a no reserve and selling them at an average of 230.00 to over 300.00 in those auctions,so i took a shot and offered 225.00 plus 75.00 for shipping and they accepted..i know that 850.00 is most likely a sales pitch to get 200.00-300.00 for them in reality.
If i get no bad feedback on these them I'm going to go ahead and buy it tonight and i geuss i'll be the "guinea pig" on these winches..lol..if i don't like it that much i can just mount it on my car trailer and go buy a Warn for the jeep,if i like it,I'm gonna get a synthetic cable for it.

So i never got the winch, and yea i understand computers AND humans make mistakes, but my problem was that my money was already sent to them and i had to wait untill they sent MY money VIA debit card to go ahead and get another one..waited 2 days..nothing..called them.got an attitude from a internet sales customer guy like it was MY fault for buying it so cheep when it was THEIR mistake..NOT mine.He then goes on to tell me my money has been sent and the bank is wrong,so i called my banks branch manager and he says there's not even a hint of any money coming BACK into my account but yet,the money sent to them is still pending like it was NEVER cancelled,,,,,long story short, after a few days of calling and getting a bunch of cold shoulders and attitudes like it was MY fault and finaly my bank manager telling them on the phone if it is not back in my account within 48 hours from the time he was speaking with them,?THERE WOULD BE FRAUDULENT CHARGES PRESSED..
Kind of funny on the deadline my money mysteriously made its way back into my account AND the pending money towards them disapeared..
So long story short,i have a bad taste in my mouth with them, and winchdepot.com is the ones who manufactures them..so i wasnt buying from them from anywhere else either.

This Runva winch seems to be a good winch for the money..no?

winch depot does not manufacture them. they are an online store that was acquired by transamerican i believe. transamerican also owns smittybilt too but thats like saying you'll never eat at taco bell or kfc because pizza hut screwed up your order...

It's not the fact they screwed up my order, its the fact MY money was gone for a week and unnecessary,so you wouldn't be mad at the taco bell if you paid for an order and it never came and had to wait a week till you got your money back?????

Oh and call winchdepot and ask them who manufactures them, whether its true or not.they ALL say THEY are the manufacturers of them, because everytime i said i'll just buy from someone else, they kept saying you'll never get it cheeper because WE make them and sell to everyone else..just stating what these idiots told me on the phone..thats good customer service?..gimme a break..

The subject here is about the Runva winch.....i could care less about smittybuilt at the moment

ive never heard of the brand that your asking about, but if the reviews are all good then its worth a shot, and the price is right so go for it and let us know how it works out. being a warn xd9000i user i dont think i can ever go back to using anything but a warn there quality is second to none.. but my 2 cents is try that winch and if it burns up in a few years your not out too much money. also i would be pissed too about the winchdepot crap

my point is, winch depot, 4 wheel parts, 4wd.com, smittybilt are owned by the same company, as are kfc, taco bell and pizza hut. if taco bell takes your money blame taco bell not kfc.
notice how its not called a winchdepot xrc8.

Winch Depot has some hoaky BS going on with their ads and their customer service is suspect too IMO. This is not even near the first time ive heard of pricing screwups with them. I bought my winch through them because it was the best price i found for the winch i wanted. I got an older version all be it new of the winch i had ordered. There was a huge difference between the two winches though it was the same rated pull etc. They had switched up to the mosfet electronics etc. I could not get anything out of them, i got hung up on while waiting on hold and the issue was never resolved. I ended up letting it go because not long after I had the issue with winch depot, MM started having issues with the mosfet electronics.

looks like a warn clone or something.

i googled it... found varying reviews... everything from- works great, to- kills my battery, doesnt free spool, etc.

google it.

im getting an xrc8.

i can tell you that if a company makes a product on their own, with their own design, it may or may not work, but at least they engineered it.

with this one, looks like they copied warn... and i think theres a reason why its so cheap, they probably used inferior parts here and there. may not matter, might be a big deal... only way to know is to use it.

yea i googled it and found the same one you seen where the guy said it was a little slow and his doesnt free spool, but that was also 2 years ago..lol..the same guy said he's had it for a quite a while and been dumped under mud and water and still keeps going and is satisfied with it..thats the only one i seen having any kind of complaint at all.
I would figure if theyve been selling them for a few years and if they had a problem with spool..or killing batteries they would of cured that problem..im geussing??..lol

I notice most winch manufacturers reccomend at least a 650 Cold Cranking Amp battery too, freind of mine has a Warn winch and killed his battery everytime he used it any length of time untill he upgraded his alternator and battery..this what I'm expecting to have to do any how.
As far as slow,it says 210:1,thats average if not fast for a 10k winch from what i've seen winches advertised...soooo..i geuss I'm talking myself into it..lol
I just went to buy it and the eBay page comes up with a Georgia sales tax of 9.00?..I'm buyin from another country let alone the state..lol

yeah it sounds kinda fishy... is it a vendor or the manufacturer that is running the auction?

also it sounds like you got the exact same results as me... in one of those threads a guy said he paid like 2 somehting for it .

but yeah man its all up to you... personally i would go with the xrc8 just because ive used one and also alot of people are happy with them for the price...

but if your willing to test it out for us, just make sure you put it through some abuse, then let us know how it does!

It is a so called exclusive vendor on this side of the big pond.
While researching reviews i seen where several UK,New Zealand,India..etc forums folks were all trying to pitch in to buy them at a bulk price from the manufacturer in China, yes.it's a China made product and what i gather from the last few days of reading the company is pretty big,not just a back woods sweat shop..here is there website..

http://www.runva-winch.com/

We'll the see the REAL results when i get it,im gonna put 'R thru the meat grinder and see how it works.

I'm thinkin the REAL test is to purposely get my HEAVY 66 bronco stuck in the thick clay/mud swamp here and see how it does yankin it out..or maybe even my 2000 F250 super duty 7.3 turbo diesel 4x4..talk about a TANK!..lol

Received it from FedEx today...

All looks good so far, packaged very well and it seems to be a stout unit.
Will start building a winch plate for the YJ tomorrow.
