Rugged Ridge vrs Poison Spyder Tube Fenders -
Hey everyone -
I am looking into getting some tube fenders for my 93 YJ and I have narrowed it down to either Rugged Ridge or Poison Spyder. The Rugged Ridge ones look very similar, are almost identical in building material specs, they are ready for paint and they are like 100 dollars cheaper. Now, I know that the companiy is known to be cheap but I don't see how that could effect the build of these fenders. Is there any reason to stay away from them? Thanks!

I personally don't know any reason to stay away other then one name compared to the other. Poison spyder is an amazing company. I would want my fenders to match my paint so i'd go with the un painted poison spyders, but remember you get what you pay for.

poison spyder you will probably be waiting at least a month to get ur fenders if not more....some people have waited 3-4 months before finally just cancelling their order.

I have bought a few Rugged Ridge products and have been very pleased with the quality.

I went with BTF DIY kit for my YJ. I just finished them the other day. They were not too bad to work with. The plates bolt on at the grill and the tub and then ya weld the pipe to them. I shaved a little off the end of the pipe for a good fit and then welded them up. They don't come with an inner fender, so I made my own with thin sheet metal from Lowes and some metal from the shell of a microwave. The inner fender is where all the work is.
They didn't take long at all to arrive. I was out of town, so didn't really track how many days. I personally like them. I knew it would require some work, it is a DIY kit after all. I would buy thier stuff again ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
