Rugged Ridge Heavy duty tie rod kit from Quardratec... is it worth it

Okay so i have to replace all my tie rod ends on my 91 wrangler and i figured since im having to replace the long end of the tie rod i mise as well upgrade to something a little stronger. I was curious about this kit from quadratec
http://www.quadratec.com/products/56118_103.htm How good of a kit is this. It seems pretty sweet i like that both ends are adjustable that way if one end goes bad in the future i dont have to replace the whole tube. I also like that the design will help take off some bumpsteer. SO i just wanted some of your opinions on this and some personal experiences with this kit. Also how well does the OME steering dampener do i am having to replace my steering dampener and i really like the OME one and havnt heard anything bad about it but just want to make sure its a good one to get

i just did my tie rods... i didnt do anything crazy....just went with stock from my local auto parts and for the price at quadratec you could do two tie rod jobs and have money left over....i dont have experiance with that kit but im sure somone else will chime in for that...

well when i replace my tires im getting 33s and i like to have that little bit of added security. I also like having a little beefier set up without having to re-drill the knuckles. Also Im not buying them from quadratec i have found another site that sells them for 50 bucks cheaper and im still on the lookout.

I just replaced my tie rods also and I came pretty close to that price from quadratec....

My long passenger tie rod was 151 i believe... I used MOOG parts...

If i was smart i would have just bought the ROCKY ROAD OTT STEER kit because i want to do SOA pretty soon... But we live and learn.

Yea that was my experience. I spent almost 200+ when I could have put it towards the OTT kit.

i have that kit on my yj, and i dont have any complaints! its big, and definitly alot stronger than the stock equipment! i would suggest checking your current steering stabilizer before you tear the teering apart, so you can order a new one and have it before you get it all apart and realize your stabilizer is shot. justa heads up. but anyways, the kit is good!

oh it is lol im redoing my whole front end rite now im redoing my ball joints my steering dampener my tie rods and dealing with some other junk oh and im also having my steering column rebuilt. Most of the above that i just listed are toast but once im all done the jeep will drive like a dream hopefully. Yea the steering stabalizer is still the factory issued one. It doesnt even have like any oil still in it. So when i said it was shot lol it really is shot

Gfd81yj i did have a question though how does the steering dampener hook up to the setup. Is it the same as stock or is there something else involved i couldnt quite tell from looking at the pictures.

Here is a link to the installation instructions.

By the way, thanks for starting this thread. I was looking at purchasing the kit for my 87, I think I'm running with the originals on mine. PO wasn't much on maintenance or upgrades.

lol that was the same thing i was asking earlier because from the pic you cant tell... But in the instructions it comes with a bracket that bolts on to your rods to hold your steering dampener. And i think if you could get it all dialed in like you need to you could probably weld that bracket on there
