RTV recommendation for TG

Getting ready to put the TG back together tomorrow after doing the JB conversion SYE and wondered if anyone has recommendations for what type of RTV works the best . ........blue black red?????

It's the best! I will never use rvt again. You can get it at any auto parts store. It comes in a tube that fits a caulk gun or in a pressurized can. It's not cheap but you will never have a leak.

I use Permatex Black or blue, oil resistive RTV...

I just did my SYE with red high temp. No leaks. Just make sure you clean the surface really well so that there is none of the old stuff left. Denatured alcohol worked great for me to clean.

87 YJ, 350 TPI, NV4500, 35x12.50x17, SOA, Locked front, 8.8 LSD rear, Flat skid

I was wondering how well RTV held up with ATF fluid versus oil. A lot of the RTVs say oil resistant but is ATF considered a oil?

RTV Gray, its was designed for aluminum machined surfaces. Works great and no leaks.

Permatex 518 gasket eliminator works good too. I used black permatex rtv when I swapped my input shaft on my t-case

I was looking at permatexs web site and noticed they make a RTV for automatic transmissions

I used the RTV for automatic transmissions on the tail cone for my t-case. Seemed to be a good choice given that the t-case uses ATF.
