Gtwinch started out as okgtwnh but no one could read it. It stands for got winch. Or ok got winch because my first trio out I was a little..... Zealous if you will stating that if anything happened it was ok. Because I had a winch. Didn't need to use it all weekend and then the first time I used it I promptly set the winch on fire as it chewed up its internals. Irony eh?

Gt it nw. What didn't you like about the fab tech springs? They ride like a dump truck? I always assume that is normal for a lifted jeep with cheap shocks.

Never run fabtech. Ran rough country. Got pointed twords BDS. It rides smooth and classy on my friends rig and I fell in love. Can't wait to see how mine rides.

apologies for repeatidly piling on your thread but it seems like it might be good resource for others down the road going thru what we have with the RC junk.

I have about 300 miles under the jeep with the new BDS springs, I still have the RC shocks, I notice now that the jeep has an actual 3-4 inches of lift that when I lift the jeep by the frame there is less than 1" of travel before the shock is fully extended and greatly limits my droop. What should I do for proper shocks that will allow a the axle to drop more than 1/2", any thoughts appreciated.

OVHD what are you doing about shocks?

for those of you who don't know what I'm doing shock wise, I'm getting bilsteins.

now you see it.

now you don't

and the new sexy...

adding M.O.R.E rear shock mount extenders, and new lower shock mounts thanks to a broken mount. I'm not sure on travel yet, I'll know final numbers monday.

Who makes the hoop in your picture a few pages back and can you share the part # on the bilstien shocks? I am running them on my FJ and they are have been awesome. What are you doing for shocks and mounts on the rear, I would really like some guidance to avoid wasting more money .

he mentioned the MORE rear extensions. (pic)
as far as you having too short of shocks. take them all off and flex out the jeep. get measurements for full stuff and full droop and order accordingly. generally you want to add 1" to the total length as to not let the shock get tugged on. you also have to make sure the shock isnt what stops you on "full stuff", this can be cured with bumpstops. these are all things I still need to do

Yes I saw mention of the rear shock extenders, I covered the rear on mine with a full crossmember and upper mount(ears) from ruff stuff while I had the body off, I was curious about the front shock hoops in the pic in post #90 on page 6 of this thread. I will be testing travel Tomorrow with shocks off, currently the bump stops are handling upper travel but front and rear shocks are severly limiting droop.

my shocks we're limiting my travel on my RC lift, so I wanted to make sure the BDS had enough room to do there thing. I did my research on here similar to this thread, you can find my info here http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f12/s...tions-2171953/

the hoops are here http://www.wfoconcepts.com/pr/13-Tal...9502/3458/3713

yes, that price is correct and freaking awesome.

on the rear, I've got the MORE extensions and I'm relocating my lowers due to a broken mount too. I don't have part numbers or flex numbers because the jeeps still getting tuned in and worked on. I'll have numbers monday/tuesday when I order everything. It's going to be on the road by friday, and at Rausch creek Saturday. What better way to do a shake down then Blacks and reds?
