Where to begin?

Rock crawling bumpers are typically:

made of better quality (cold rolled steel, thicker, etc)...designed to take a hit on a hard surface
are shorter than factory (aka "stubbies") for clearance purposes
has a winch plate / shackle mounts built in
typically has a stinger or some other front protection

Hope that helps.

Don't read into marketing too much. What you are referring to might just be the name a company just put on that line of bumpers.

I think you would call mine a rock crawler bumper. its 1/4 2x4 tubing and does not go past the frame rails. Winch is tied into it. Front shackle hangers are on it.

It's harder to call any YJ front bumper a rock crawler bumper because the leaf springs hang down. they really hurt your approach angle and are easy to nail on rocks.
