Ring and Pinion Install

I was just quoted almost 500 bucks in installation per axle for my ring and pinion gears. Sad part is thats only slightly more than everyone else around here has quoted me. What would you guys expect to pay? Am I insane for thinking 1,000 dollors is outrageous for just labor? There is now way I'm paying that much.

That is unreal There's a speciality shop in my town that will change out the ring-and-pinion gears for $700, and that includes the parts!

Look around, and check out local clubs. I have had the last 3 axles in my rig set up for under 100 each

deals are out there, but 500 per axle is insane

Around me, the average going price seems to range from $150-$300 per axle for labor only.

Here $250 is labor per axle. Most places will even cut that to 200 if you buy gears and stuff from them.

Yup that's nuts. Tell them to shove it. Keep looking around.
