I cant really find the answer to my question but maybe someone on the forum will. I want to run a 33x12.50-R15 or 35x12.50-R15. Im not sure what rim size i need? 15x7, 15x8, 15x10 I dont know.

A wheel with 8" width is what I would recommend. So 15x8 out of your choices. Some here have used a 7" width with no issues, however you may run into them if you are airing the tires down for offroad use.

Doesn't a narrower rim allow you to air down more since there is more pressure of the bead? So wouldn't a 7" be better for airing down than an 8" rim?

The problem with a 7" wide is the back spacing of the rim. They usually rub on the leaf springs in the front. That is why most people go with 8" wide rim, then they can get I think 3 1/2 to 4 inch backspacing. I believe that is right. Someone correct me on the backspacing.

I believe you're correct on the 7" rim and backspacing. they just don't make one with enough. I think the norm would be 3.25 or 3.75 backspacing.

The problem I ran into is that none of the tire shops near me would mount the 33's on a 15x8" rim. I'm sure I could have searched around more but most places wouldn't run the risk of mounting them.

I ended up with 15x10".

I ran 15x7s with 31x10.5R15s on my YJ and they rubbed the leafs at full lock. I ordered 15x8s with 33x12.5R15s with 3.75 BS and they fit perfectly, just missing the leafs. This set-up required 6" flares. BTW R&S Strauss will mount anything.

The 32" tire is 1" narrower which is about all the difference it takes to rub on the leafs when turning.

I'm not sure of your point but you can't compare the two different tire sizes and rim sizes.

No, I meant its dumb that the tire shop wouldn't mount 33'x12.5's on an 8 inch width rim when that's predominately what most guys run without issues.
