Replacing windshield wiper linkage

im new to the jeep JEEPForum.com and when i bought my jeep the only thing wrong with it was the windshield wipers of course a little rainx and polarized glasses and im ok but would like to get it fixed before i go out on the trails hardcore and get mud caked on the windshield so does anyone now how hard it is if they even make the linkage because i havent dropped the windshield yet to look but im sure that its either the linkage itsself maybe rusted or it needs bushings because the motor works any advise would be great

The common Jeep Parts web sites sell the wiper motors but not the linkage. You can still get it from the stealership in your town special order at a price. When you drop the windshield and take it apart you may find you only need one bit or pice to repair so don't give up too early it is easier than you think. Then when you know where the failed part(s) is/are you can then try to source them. Keep an eye on Craigs List for someone parting out any old Jeep and Ebay sometimes will surprise you as a source of parts.

I had to put my stuff into a new windshield frame( due to rust). Anyway, as good as I can remember, once you fold down the windshield, you'll find two oblong holes, one has your wiper motor in it. There isn't enough room to play around in there, but I wouldn't imagine it would be very hard to change out one of the linkages, if need be.

You might just luck out, on mine the nut holding the linkage to the motor just fell off and was sitting right there.
