A friend of mine picked some up from a local JY a few months back and he had to modify the brackets to get them in. I think he ended up welding some tabs in or just welding the seats to the sliders. It was a half *** job either way.

They were from a newer model though, maybe 2002 or 2004, somethign like that. He likes how comfy they are, but it wasn't a straight swap. Maybe the earlier models are different though, I'm not sure.

I see alot of seat installs in here where the seat is leaning too far back. The base of the seat is nearly flat with the stock seats, buying seats with any incline makes them sit funny, with the front of the lower cushion too high.
I posted an easy fix for this, reply #295 I think, right in this thread. It really helps with seats that have too much angle.

Well, after reading the entire thread I decided to take the challenge. My driver seat had most of the foam rubber gone and the passenger side cover torn in many places. Went to Jalopy Jungle and found several Cavaliers. Years from 92 thru 2002, 2drs and 4drs. Found a 97 2dr. as the first prospect. I checked and the seat did not fold forward any further than the 4dr ones. It was in good condition but pretty dirty. Found a 4dr 98 that had nearly perfect seats. $38 plus tax and I owned both front seats. I only had time this evening to change one seat so started on the passenger side. Removed the YJ seat with no effort. Put it on the PU tailgate. Removed the bolts from the Cavalier seat tracks and went to remove the Jeep seat tracks. Crap! Torx on the Jeep! Went to Walmart and bought a torx set. Removed the rear torx easily but couldn't figure out how to get to the front bolts. After about 10 minutes of screwing around with foam etc I finally moved the seat track back and there they were! Removed and held the cavalier track to the jeep seat to see how the bolt holes lined up.. Crap again! The bolt holes were about an inch off! Well, guess Have to drill. More effort. Studied for a while again and discovered I had it upside down! Put it the correct way...Hurray! Mounted the Jeep seat mechanism to the Cavalier seat perfectly! Yes indeed, an easy bolt in. I will do the other seat tomorrow after work and post pics! Thanks for the encouraging thread!

Pics of the seats. Old driver side and the "new" ones! One other thing...Lube the seat tracks while they are off the seats! Wish I had thought of that earlier. Another lesson for me!

OK I bought the Cavalier seats today. $20 each.
Now I get to figure out how they go in the Jeep. My seat mounts are different than ^^ those. (88).
I hope I have the same good luck. They are pretty damn comfortable seats and I hate the stock Jeep seats.
I'm goin' in......

Had to make a bracket to get them to fit in mine.

I got one done and in. Only needed to drill three holes in the base of the seat and use some 1 1/2" X 3/8" bolts and nuts. No fabricating at all but definitely not direct bolt in.
This is with it installed and all the way back on the slider, reclined two notches. Comfy seats for sure.....

SO, post up what you ACTUALLY used, not what you have heard fits and what it took to make them fit if some fab work was required. This list will be submitted to TombRaider for final approval and then be stickied. (If that is allright with you of course Tomb...)

LIST MOVED TO JEEPWIKI ARTICLE :

This link isnt working for me, I know this is an old post but where can I find the updated list? I checked in the FAQ and it brought me here which referenced a Jeep Wiki article but the link just loops me back to the home page.

I seen a post where a guy put seats from an 94 olds bravada and they dropped in has anyone tried blazer or jimmy seats as they should be the same as the bravada. as the bravada seats looked hella comfy and cool in leather

Were they a direct bolt in? And is the center console still a yj console?

They were not direct bolt in, but as close as ull get. The outter rail bolts in but the inner rail is 2 inches skinnier. I jus cut a piece of 1/4 plate and drilled 2 holes 2 inches appart. Bolted it to the stock slider, n yes it's a yj console. I big oversized one, it's a tight fit cuz the seats r very cushiony but no issues opening n closing or nething. The WJ seats have the same bolt pattern on the risers that a tj seat does. They're jus 2 inches inward on the bolt location from the stock yj seats on the side closest to the center console. The side closer to the door bolts right up. If that makes sense....
