Remove BA10/5 shift lever

Hello, I'm replacing my clutch and need to remove the long lever from the short lever. Does it screw off like the knob? I don't wanna force it and break something. Thanks for any help.

Remove the cover from the floor inside the Jeep that both shifters go through. Pull it up as far as you can. Look over in the hole at the top of the transmission where the shifter goes in. Should be a round cover that has three screws in it. Remove the three screws and pull it out.
