Rebuilt 32RH Auto Transmission won't shift into 2nd or 3rd gear.

I did a rebuild on a 1992 32RH auto transmission. I was having a major slippage on the upshift from 1st to 2nd gear. The clutch disks were burned and the friction material was pretty much gone.

After installing the transmission back in the jeep and refilling the fluids, I can' get the transmission to engage 2nd gear. Reverse and 1st work just fine, but it won't upshift out of 1st.

Fluids are full, everything else is running great. I adjusted the TV cable, but with no improvement.

Could this be related to band adjustment? I adjusted the bands to the FSM specs. If the front band was loose, would this be the symptom?

Any help is appreciated. It's my daily driver and it's been sitting in the driveway for over a week now.

From my expereince in the trans shop....if it doesnt work at all or in your case only part of it is working, its just a bad rebuild, adjustments only help not solve if you know what I mean.

Guess I'll be pulling the transmission again to go over the rebuild.

Any advice on what to look for? I double checked everything before I reassembled last time.
