rear shock relocation brackets??

putting in an 8.8 and want to make bottom mounts flush with bottom of axle tube. is there anyone else other than MORE that makes a set of relocation brackets so i don't have to get shorter shocks. MORE's are like $100. anybody else come up with a DIY bracket that works?

Thanks

If you're talking about the upper relocation mount, I don't know of anything right off other than the MORE kit. But, I can't imagine the difference in length going from the stock location to flush with the bottom will be enough to warrant new shocks. As for the shock mounts on the axle itself, I'd recommend Ruff Stuff Specialties.

Ditto on Ruff Stuff mounts.

They just came included in my 8.8 swap kit But to answer your question, MORE is the only company I have seen that seels the upper extender. You could do an outboard shock relocation, like have some tube bent up and weld it to the outside of the frame. Just another idea

I have the MORE's and love them. They are pricey, but worth it.

sebastian, how hard was it to install the MORE ones. i've heard its a PITA, did you have to remove the exhaust and cut some metal for articulation of new position on pass side?

Its not hard at all. I think the hardest (most tedious) part would be to drill the holes for the studs. Since I did my 8.8 swap at my buddys house who has a welder, we decided to grind off the studs on the brackets, and just weld the bottom of the brackets to the frame. Took about 15 minutes to do both sides.

The grinding of the heat shield took about 2 minutes with my grinder, and removing the exhaust is NOT necessary (at least it was not on mine). Also had to cut a notch on the fuel filter skid along the frame on the driver side.

Yep, we installed the upper shock mounts first, hooked up the shocks and let them hang down, bolted the lower shock mounts to the shocks, lined them up, jacked up the shocks until the lower mounts was flush with the axel tube, and tack welded the lower mounts.
