Rear Hatch window gap on my 92'?

I noticed on my 92' YJ that I just got, there is a gap between the rear soft top window and the rear hatch door. Now at the sides of the rear it is all connected in, but the window and the door don't connect at all. Is this normal? There is a good 1/2" to inch gap there.

There is supposed to be a metal rail that runs along the bottom of the rear window. It sildes into the bracket on the top of the plate whaere the bottom sides are connected.

its an after market top, by steel horse, the prev. owner just put it on a few months ago. All I see at the bottom is a plastic tube thats a reinforcement along the bottom of the window, and nothing on the door itself.
