Rear Defroster Hook Up

I just put the hard top on my jeep for the first time and was wondering if anyone knows the wiring to hook up the rear defroster on the rear window. The haynes and the chilton don't say anything that I can find about the wiring. If anyone knows how to do this please let me know.

look at the rear fender inside the jeep (drivers side) there is a wire that goes through the fender and there is a splice that does not go through with the rest. It has a connector at the end that has like 4-5 outputs it connects in the connecter that is fixed to the hardtop

them you have to hook up the little terminals on each side of the rear window. There are 4 (2 on each side) they are on the liftgate cylinders that hold the liftgate up

defrost

does the hard top even have a defrost on it becasue I know the mine doesn't even have the defrost and I think as far as I know only the TJ's have the defrost. but I am not sure you have to check on it.

Our 93 YJ has a defroster on the hard top. There is also a hose for the washer fluid and the wiring for the rear windshield wiper in the same bundle of wires.

My 94 YJ has it, but I have no idea how to hook it up... or how it even connects in back in the back.

Meister_jeep, in the back fender I have a small hole that wires are shrink wrapped and then go through a rubber plug. Does that connector that you have go down in there? I originally had the soft top on it factory but I don't think that would make a difference.

here is a picture of the connecter that I took when I restored my jeep you see the plug and the connecter that sticks out just before the plug IT DOES NOT GO THROUGH THE FENDER. check the picture here

hope this helps. You might not have the connecter if you did not have a hardtop from the factory but I wouldn't see why they would bother to make different wiring harnesses
