Doesn't work as in it won't hold the Jeep in place or the pedal doesn't stay down? If you're having pedal issues go here... My Jeep: Official Jeep Owners website - Warranty, Vehicle Specs, Service Contracts, Financing, Dealers .... and under recalls put in the last 8 digits of your VIN. There was a recall on the e-brake assembly yours may not have been done.

if its not popping off like tim suggested, then if your shoes are ok ,just ejust the rear brakes. if that doesnt do it there is an ejuster on the ebrake cable under the jeep where the 2 back cables meet the front ebrake cable. mine wont adjust there because its frozen. and the dam foot pedal pops off at any given time. i have to get the recall done. tim go to bed! i would pull the rear drums and have a look if they havnt been off in a while. there could be axle or brake fluid on the shoes also

I just got done fixing this issue on my Jeep. Mine was caused by broken tabs on the rear e-brake cables that secure the cable to the drum support plate. Have a look at the cables on each end and make sure they are good and tight.

When it does slip is it out of gear, and when it doesn't slip is it in gear?

when it doesn't hold I keep it in gear, I can feel it not tightening when I push in the peddle
