I don't understand that after 100 posts you're back at square 1.

I know I know it just seems easier to find the parts y'all are talking about were y'all are at like I posted earlier I am looking at 5 to 600 for a used front end the ford is easier and cheaper to find but in 3.73s gears.

I just checked car-part.com for my zipcode, and I would be looking at 100 miles each way with 300-500 bucks for the rear regardless what kind of gears or what year it is. The front is about the same if I pick it from a cherokee.

BUT here's the thing: there's about a dozen local junkyards that aren't even on car-part.com. Those are the ones to call and check around. Especially the ones in the middle of the city... because the ones way out in the boonies have already been picked clean by the guys out there, they know what a 4X4 is. The ones in the city have more hardcore parts on them, but they tend to charge more because real estate costs more in the middle of downtown.

Alright found a ford 8.8 with 3.73 gears going to get it and put it in the jeep and disconnect the 4x4 for now tell I can find me a good front end. Next question is where do I find the axle conversion kit for the best price. Found the yoke converter for 50 bucks anyone know where its cheaper or is that a good price?

Got some more questions. One on the rear axle is there anything you have to change to run disc breaks on the back? Two what if I bought a locker for the front with 3.73 gears how does that work?
