Anyone ever bought or heard anything about east coast gear supply? They fabricate those diffs so when u get them u just. Pot them on all the brackets in place and the right yoke for drive line looks like its going to run me around 900. I just got 1600 extra dollars to spend on the jeep repair witch would be the best way to go?
ECGS isn't exactly plug and play. You have to order shims for your pinion angle because it's not set where you need it to be. Klrstew ordered one and had his thread running for a couple weeks but instead of getting you a link, I'll let someone else post the pics here.
This week I have been swapping axles. I purchased the front and rear with 4.10's from this forum and craigslist...total was 325.00 add all new tie rods/ends for the front of 166.00 and new front discs, pads, and various paints/nuts/bolts of 200.00.
Pulled the gas tank also....new straps, hoses...etc...
I have the 3.07/3.08 pulled......sell it for 100.00. I'm in NC. PM me if you can work it out.....nothing wrong with it. You got first dibs. I re-did the brakes on it last year...still good. I have a lift with 33's....needed the 4.10 gears.

I believe everyones opinion will be yes, you need a gear change. with 33's. 410 would be better, then you could get a dana 30 out of a 4 cyl. if you don't already have it you really should have a sye too.
a gear change will probably be more expensive than swapping out the complete front axle with one from a 4 cyl. you might need some of that 1600.00 for other suprises that may come, old jeeps are a money pit.
look around for a whole axle from a 4 cyl 91-95 wrangler and just swap the axle out so you will have 4.10s in the front, then you can find a 8.8 with 4.10s and get it made to fit your jeep, going from 3.07s to 4.10s will make a big difference and alot easier on your motor to turn the 33's after that you shouldnt have any more issues with the axles and you will also be able to go into 5th gear lol.
