Bowless Soft top for YJ

So a while back I found out that there were bowless soft tops for TJ's made by Viking Off-Road. This seemed like a perfect set up for the summer, combined with full 2 piece soft doors, it would be awesome to have the full soft top, and full doors on the highway to the trail, but be able to take everything out and store it in the jeep safe and sound. All that and not have to pay over a grand for a full replacement Bestop supertop and doors. Well doing some searching I found Viking sold the top to Rampage and they are scheduling to ship the bowless soft top for YJ's June 1st.

Figured I would bring notice to it. Anyone else interested?

Yes I would really like to keep the hard top and full doors for the winter. Right now, from April to September I run a safari top and no doors, no matter the weather or where I'm going. So it would be really nice to have the bowless top and 2 piece soft doors for on the highway to the trail or when it starts to rain.

Yes I do. They have a "door hoop" to take the place of door surrounds. sides and back can either be rolled up or removed and stored under the "safari" top. They are giving 3 color options ( black, gray or spice) and a standard light tint or optional dark tint windows.
Supposedly, they had a run on their TJ tops and were out of stock for a short time. You might check on the TJ board to see if anyone bought one, to check on fit and quality.

I just know the price is good and its a small American business that found a niche that the big companies are not touching.

I wonder if they will fit on my YJ with a cage? My soft top is torn at the windshield channel on both sides, so I'll snatch on up as soon as they are available.

The thread you're speaking of is located here

Looks like everyone likes them, but they are tight, and a few people were having clearance issues, but it seemed to be due to installation error. Also looks like they are on backorder now until May 10th for the TJ guys, they seem to be selling very fast.

I would consider it but now I'm looking for a hard top. My bestop supertop is about 8 years old and has seen better days. Thinking I might go to a hardtop for a while.

I just called bestop and they said they sell individual 2 piece soft doors for $100. Not sure if that includes everything you need (not sure why it wouldn't) but that means they're half the cost at bestop then they are from quadratec.

*edit* I sent them an email asking how much a complete set will cost and they replied saying they do not sell their product, you can only get it from one of their distributors.

I will definitly be ordering one of these sometime this summer. These things look awesome and if I can get rid of my soft top frame I can lose half of the rattles in my jeep.

This bowless top looks awesome, however, I have some questions. I just changed my windshield frame with a NEW one that is holefree. Do I need to drill the 12 or so holes to use the windshield channel or do they use the Sunrider style clips like the TJs do(I have a YJ)? Do they make soft doors to match or do you use the Best Top ones?
Any asnwers would be helpful. Bought my YJ in Feb '10 and came with a soft top that someone is repairing for $200 and I'd rather put that money toward a new one.

^ Idk about the header if it's going to be drill in or not, we'll have to wait and see once a YJ owner buys one. As for the doors, it doesn't look like Rampage is making any, Bestop is the only company I know that makes them
