Finished up the traction bar today, it came out pretty good i think. making the notch where the two tubes come together at the front was a real pain but i got it all worked out. Its 1.5" .25" wall DOM and then instead of dealing with notching and more tube a boxed the whole thing with 3/16 plate. Its pretty damn heavy and i think itll hold.

The rear still rides like a brick so i think i'm gonna take 1 or 2 leaves out now that i have the bar, i'm currently running 6, two of which are lifts i think. That may end up requiring me to redo the bar a bit since i think it will drop it an inch of so but we will see

I also finally got to take it out and wheel it, it definitely needs rear shocks and a few loose ends tied up but its nice to get out and around, the bar certainly works, i'm not sure if it limits me badly or not on flex, i dont think so. Still need to yank it all out and paint it.

shocks and towers showed up today, i'm not sure that i will be able to run the f-250 towers as the angle out a bit more than i thought but i may be ble to correct it, we'll see
got some pics of the final stance i think, winch and cb put back on, the rear sits kind of high but i may still take a leaf out and it will sit lower with a full tank. the coolant resevoir is still loking for a home and i;m still shopping to tube fenders.

So we got some snow and while I was out plowing some of my buddies came by my house and built themselves a ski jump at the bottom of a hill over a fence. They soon figured out that they needed more speed than the hill could generate for them so they called me to come and give them a tow to get up to speed before the downhill. Gave me a good reason to get out and play in the snow in the rig and we just so happened to have a photographer too.

Got the rear shocks done yesterday. I used f-250 shock towers and **** 12 inch shocks. The recentered H1's allowed me to outboard so the process became super simple. I also finally got a chance to pull my traction bar out and get some paint on it.

I got a moment to take it out today and play around on some dirt piles. Nothing hardcore but allowed me to flex it out and see how it wheels a bit. I definitely need to figure somethin gout with the gearing. 4.10's and the stock case with 38's are way too tall to crawl, I find myself riding the clutch way too much. a tera 231 seems to be the easiest and cheapest solution at this point.

id look for an NP241OR out of a Rubicon. gonna be about the same price as a tera low kit and it will be way stronger. should pretty much be a bolt in too if you use the Novak shifter. plus you dont have to worry about the oiling problem they sometimes have (or so ive heard) there is a guy on Marylandcreepers.com that has one with a 2 low kit in it for 1200. crawfiststu is his name. its a good price because the 2 lo kit is around 250

I'm not all that well versed on the 241OR's but wouldn't it be a 23 spline? How readily available are new inputs/are they the same as the 231? i have a 4 cylinder so I need a 21 spline, or swap out my tranny. I know a guy local who is selling his tera 231 for 700 with an SYE so i figure i can just put that in and sell mine off to recoup some cash.

You're right, thats the new plan, just as soon as you hand me that loan to do it. I swear I'm good for it. I'm thinking Chevy 4.3 with a 700r or th350 to a stak. Whens the check coming?

that would be a 700r4, which would be ideal, except for the fact that i'm hurting for cash and still need to get my cage done, seats and harnesses, and the case.
