Some buddies and i got together today and put together a small rock crawling course for us to stretch our rigs on, i dont have any pictures of mine on it as i didnt have my jeep with me but my friends TJ did pretty well. Not great pics though.
![]() ![]() ![]() Here are some videos. It's not a super hardcore course or anything but it takes some flex and working. He has a detroit in the rear which helped alont, but his sway bar is connected. http://s16.photobucket.com/albums/b6/willhf1011/?action=view¤t=DSCN1552.flv http://s16.photobucket.com/albums/b6/willhf1011/?action=view¤t=DSCN1555.flv

Finally some more progress (in the form of parts).
Got my steering setup from brian on pirate. I'm running an intersecting draglink for full histeer. it's all the parts mike setup. reamed for 1 ton rod ends. it came with the correct pitman arm and everything so it should just bolt right up. ![]() ![]() ![]() Also went out playing the other evening with some friends and just had to get this poser shot. ![]()

Not much on updates but i did run up at Rausch Creek this past weekend. Hit mostly blues with a few black lines. I did pull off yellow jacket ridge which got me pretty siked as i didnt think i'd be able to do it with open diffs and 32's. Ran with a bunch of great people and some pretty cool rigs. We had 2 yj's, 2 xj's, 2 new fj's, a rubicon on 33's and a sammi on 44's

Its been a while since I've made any progress, . Just getting back into school for the year so I haven't had a lot of time to work on the jeep. Just need a few more things before I've got everything I need for the swap. I need to figure out what kind of packs im going to be running, find 2 more 12 bolt hummer wheels, and get some shocks, the rest will be odds and ends. So if anyone wants to make a donation... Anyway i decided that before i pull the trigger on the swap i should get this thing inspected because i did plan to put it on the road one day....and i don't see it passing with the new axles. So the parking brake needed to be worked out with the discs and it needed narrower tires or wider flares, i opted for some temporary wider flares.
Bracket to adapt YJ cable to ZJ brake. ![]() Welded on. ![]() Ugly Flares. ![]()

And the axles are out!
These things really do seem small after working with the 44 and 60 for so long. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Made some good progress this weekend, the build is finally underway. I mixed up some spring packs combining a 2.5 Rancho with my stocks to get a slightly taller pack They may be a little stiff, we'll find out once its under the jeep. i used the rancho main and cut my main to psuedo military wrap it. Also got my SYE installed. etting my case out was a pain, getting it back in will likely be worse. The installation wasn't too bad though. It went quicker than i had planned and was surprisingly simple. I also got a start on my new crossmemeber/skid plate. i got the main rails measures and drilled. I'm still in the designing phase of it, I'll get a design of it up soon.

Came up with a design for the skid plate/cross memeber assembly in sketchup.
Its not set in stone at all as i'm gonna try and make it as light as possible while still being stout. All the tubing is 1.5 inch 1/8 wall square. I might not use tuging for all the cross pieces and instead use angle or flat stock depending on what ive got. Comments or suggestions? ![]()

Got the tierod bolted up, just need to borrow a pitman arm puller to hook up the drag and new pitman.
![]() ![]() I'm getting around to mounting up shocks and I want to run my rears outboarded. With full widths and about 4.5-4.75 inches of backspacing. Is that gonna be possible or will i have to notch my frame? The rims on there right now are just as rollers. I'm hoping to sell my 38's to fund some new ones preferably in a 17 inch.

Got the pitman arm off today and the new one bolted up. The old one was a huge pain to get off, i almost broke a puller on it. The puller was doing nothing and the impact was long out of power then i remembered to try heating it and ofcourse it dropped right off. Also got the transfer case bolted back in which turned out to be much easier than i had imagine it would be. Its getting closer to moving under its own power.
The steering linkage is pretty flat and clears nicely, i'm happy with it. ![]() ![]()
