geusey the MC is awesome, i wish i'd done it sooner. I have alot more braking power than when it was on stock tires so i would highly recomend the swap. Change over to a dual diaphragm booster too, it'll make the swap much easier and you'll get better braking. I think jeep changed over to duals in 95. I'm not sure what MC xj's run but i would imagine it might be a little bigger since you're stopping a larger vehicle, the ZJ's was noticeably larger than my stock YJ one. Let me know if you need any help or more pics of the swap.
Thanks Ostrow, I'm pretty pumped for the swap, but i still have alot of parts to pull together before i start ripping apart my current setup. I actually enjoy the fab and work almost as much as i do wheeling it, so it works out nicely. XC's starting soon too, oh man.

Ok. The one I'm lookin at is from a 1990 XJ with abs. What did you do about the ABS? I dont know much about brake hydrolics, so more pics would be AWESOME! Since it is not a dual diaphram booster do you think ill still need it?

I'll get more pics up tomorrow as well as updates but i would say the only use in using the xj booster would be for ease of fitting the MC but that would probably be lost in the time that you would have to spend getting the pump rod to work so i would say just use your stock booster, they'll do the same job, in fact they may actually be the same thing exactly, im not sure.
I'll have pics tomorrow but my rear disc is done, front is painted and new yoke installed, and i picked up a bunch more parts. solid covers, sye, yoke, and grab handles. in touch with a guy on steering as well went up to we rock on saturday and it was awesome. saw the guys from Appalachian Offroad there and their rigs did pretty well i believe. I'll have some pics from that too. In general i just want to thank they guys from Appalachian, theyve helped me a ton so far and more to come i'm sure. If i'm lost on something i know their just a call away and will almost definitely have an answer for me.

the disc swap was so easy (on the 35 that is) it literally all bolted up. the axle flange on all the 35's is the same so you just take off all the drum stuff and bolt the backing plated/bracket for the discs on. I might make a seperate thread for the swap if you guys would like, that way i dont put 500 pictures up here.
yeah im very lucky as to my resources. i definitely could not have made it this far without the shop on our farm. having grown up around equipment gives me a little more courage when it comes to tearing it all apart because i know i can always (hopefully) fix what i mess up. i've also been making pretty rapid progress because its summer time and im working all week, sadly once school starts up it all slows down. I'm not on my computer at the moment but when i get home tonight i'll post up new pics of all the progress and some more brake stuff for geusey. oh and geusey if your MC is going and you end up not wanting to do the xj swap i'd be happy to give you my old one if you pay shipping (though that may be pricey across the country) it worked fine in mine so i would assume it still works.

Found a set of tires and grabbed them over the weekend, 38 12.50 16.5 SX's with new tread. Im now on the hunt for rims. I have 2 non recenterable H1's that i could run with spacers. Does anyone have a suggestion on where i could find some 3 inch spacers? Mounted up one of the SX's on a rim just to see how it looks and I really like it. I'd love to run recentered H1's with rock rings so if anyone is looking to let a set go...let me know. Getting set up with steering soon. If anyone has any old leafsprings laying around (waggy xj yj doesnt matter) that they would like to get rid of let me know as im gonna mix up some packs.

Ordered ubolts, plates, and perches from Dan at RuffStuff. Service was incredible and they were marked shipped 30 minutes after I ordered them, I'm very impressed.
Not much else on updates. My buddy stopped by and we cut the front fenders on his Taco and tested the new stuff room. ![]()

I agree its nice to see someone do their own work, you get way more satisfaction in the end. I am interested to see how your rig turns out. It just keeps getting better! Keep up the great work!

Yeap shes going soa sometime after my next run at Rausch Creek (i want to wheel her hard once more on these axles and lift) and will hopefully be all set in time for Jeff Daniels on november 1st.
I'm working on the disc brake swap thread right now and will hopefully have it all finished up by tonight. I also may try and set up my e-brake today which i will include in the thread. pacodelahoya, im trying to resist the urge at the moment. Part of me says while i have the axles out just tear everything apart but im gonna try and get the 2.5 to last me a year with this setup and then go for big power. I want to set my tc up with much lower gearing but i think i'll wait til i have the "final" power train in to drop big money on the case. Im looking at lockers now, my budget is running thin at the moment and sadly some of the work i can't do is set up gears. Theyve got 4.10's now which i can live with for some time but i would really like a locker. Without the ability to do gears that kind of eliminates a full carrier replacement locker (like the detroit i would love to have) until i regear. I'm thinking i may set my front up with an aussie or rear with a lockright until i go for new gears when i'll do a whole carrier. Any thoughts on that? i know its not an ideal situation but i'd really like to be able to run a locker until funds permit regearing and a carrier replacement. Thanks for all the support guys, I'm getting really antsy to just get moving with the swap and stop with the parts collecting.
