Didn't think about it that way.

cheep jeep

Well, thought I had gotten the deal of all deals, but I think yours takes the prize. Got mine for $400, put another $450 in it to make it driveable, but it still needs the tranny (AX-15) rebuilt, engine rebuilt, blah, blah, blah. Still gotta love a Cheep. I sold my ATV - didn't need it anymore - could drive right up to where the deer flops with the Cheep, and jump right back on the road and go. Can't beat it for a hunting vehicle. So tell your wife not to be so pissed, you could be a lot of other places doing much less productive things, right?

Excellent work. I am a huge fan of the TJ soft top swap. Would love to see some more detail on how you made that work. I see how the rollbar attaches but what about the windshield header? Any other little tweaks you had to do to get it work?

also, had a jeep parts list laying around. According to the 2002 list the tub belt rail retainer part numbers are the following:
Left - 55175754AB
Right - 55175755AB

So the red jeep is gone. I ended up making about $3000. So i did well to say the least.

I have a few parts on order that should be arriving over the next week or 2 so i will start posting some more.

I just got the front end re geared yesterday and got to do a little wheeling near the House last night and the boys LOVED it!!!!! Which after all is the whole reason i built this thing. Over the last few months of driving it everyday I am very happy with ti. The 2.5 doesn't even compare to the 4.0 I couldn't be happier.

I have made a few changes to the suspension from what i originally went with. Originally I went with the 3.5" Super lift springs but i hated them so I took the 5.5" BDS springs and removed a leaf form the pack and it is AWESOME. I have about 3.5" of lift and the springs are very flexy and the rids both on road and off is excellent.

Also I installed my SYE and Tom woods drive shaft. I have pics of all that and will get them up shortly.

I have finally got around to getting the dash done, I went with a spice dash that matches my seats. I ended up picking a new DD: 99 Oldsmobile Cutlass with only 40,000 miles, $ 1500.00.

It was my Gma's that pasted recently.

Anyhow I only have to paint the roll cage and she is done. I have stupid stuff that i will be doing this fall like, clutch and exhaust.

I will try to get some updated photos up tomorrow. I know I keep posting that put I got the camera fixed so maybe I actually will this time.

bump for updates - also don't be afraid of dropping the gas tank. I bought the Currie 1/4" lift boomerang shackles, and a Smittybilt rear bumper, and there was no way to do either without dropping the tank.

It was seven bolts, three of them just spun so I had to carefully grind them. Of course the tank was full so I had 100lbs of gas in it but...

I then did my shackles and bumper, and put all new nuts and bolts in for the tank, and did the 20gal tank mod. I just put a nut on each bolt without the tank, then put the tank on with another nut. If I have to drop it again and the bolts spin, I'll just cut them off and do new ones again. No biggie.

The only problem with putting the tank back on by myself was that it was hard to wiggle with all the gas in it...

Also the vent tubes on top of the tank take a little reaching to get plugged back in.

Sweet rig man - we need pics!

Secondary compessor

Are you still out there. Great job! You mentioned while doing paint your secondary compressor died. How do you rig it to your primary and what is your primary. I have a pancake and a sears 5HP. I have shot hvlp with the sears just to coat stuff but this sounds like it ma be a home run.

Once again, wtf?

Seriously though, you've answered alot of questions I had about swapping in a TJ soft top and grill and running 37s with a shorter lift. Hope you've got more updates coming with the Jeep all finished.
