What happened to all the wiring and how easy/difficult was it to remove? Was the body tub difficult to remove?

If I were to do a project like this, I anticipate that the engine and dash wiring would be my trouble spots. :/

And then, of course, finding a place to reinstall all the firewall components. I'd beef up the entire steering assembly if I were you. I know you left the bottom linkage alone, but for what you plan on doing, it just seems better to upgrade to heavy duty components.

Anyhoo, keep up the good work and keep us posted!

Thank you. As far as the wiring goes, I took it all out and have it in a tub for right now. The PO had it all cobbed up to begin with so I am not totaly sure what my plan of attack will be. I no I will need to get the wiring harness for the V8 I have and then I may just get a new Jeep YJ wire harness, dunno.

The tub came off pretty easy once we were able to get the body mounts all loose. The dash components all went in the trash since none of them really worked. Fellow member, coyote_94yj, will be making me a custom dash panel which looses basically the whole dash. Makes it look something like a CJ dash basically.

The steering will get up-graded before the project is road ready. I have so much other stuff going on with it right now, I haven't given the steering too much thought.

I hope to work on my axles this weekend and maybe get them ready to paint. I still have to find the 78' Eldorado backets/hardware. I will post new pics when I get some.

What year did your axles come out of? I reread and figured out your switching back to drivers side.

When you do all this are you stretching WB or anything or just going for a built stock style jeep?

The axles are out of a 83' J20 truck. At the pressent time I am not stretching the WB because I still need to get it inspected. I want to be able to drive it as a DD if I need to, so I will have to have custom tube fenders that have the flares made into them to cover the wheels enough to pass inspection. This could prove to be more difficult then I had originally thought but I will work through it.

I am actually working on a PM for you with a few questions right now!!!

Not much happening this week on the project. I got the shop press last Friday and I ordered a complete set of set-up bearings for the D44 & D60 yesterday. I hope to get back to work on the axles next weekend.

Just wanted to give a quick update.

Not much going on again this week. I am getting ready to clean the frame up to paint and I was wondering what everyone's thoughts were on the stock shock towers. Should I replace them with a new shock tower that will work with the Blistein 5100's or should I just stick with the stock ones? Thanks for the suggestions.

Should I just go to a link set-up instead of leaf?????

I have been giving the suspension some thought and I saw a segment on Extreme 4x4 this past week and they did a link system on a Samari for under $1k. I already have 3.5" BDS springs from my SUA and it may be too high. What all would I need to go to a link set-up?

This is what I am thinking....

~I am going to be buying new shocks regardless
~Instead buying a MORE trac bar I will be able to spend that money on the rear link se-up
~I will have to truss both axles
~I will have to get new coils & spring plates
~I can sell my BDS springs, new RE Anti-wrap Perches, new u-bolt plates, new u-bolts.

I will be driving this about 50-70% DD so I would like to do it right if I end up going this. Thank you for your thoughts!!!!

It (Link Set-up) is just a thought. I haven't made a decision yet. I am hoping that I will get som input from some of the guys that have done it and through some research I will be able to decide whether or not to go for it.

Jeep Couple and otorahanga, I will let you guys know as soon as I know!!!
