Project Advice for my '95 Wrangler

I bought it for the has mileage... Now I want to have the power side. I'm looking to do a V8 swap. I know a guy selling a 5.2L V8 out of a 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I did some looking around & come up with on average 14-16 MPG highway & 11-13 city. I drive 20 miles a day just to go to school. 65 for 3/4 of the way. I have the automatic 4 speed, & won't change that. Last time I checked with my inline 6 I got 18 mpg. My YJ is a lot lighter than a Grand Cherokee though, & only has p235/75/R15 on it. You guys think it's worth it? Will the motor bolt right in, or will I have to get different mounts? I've only done motor swaps from S-10's to other S-10's.... Thanks a ton

BTW: With 3" dual exhaust, no cat's, would it help on gas mileage for the V8?

Or, will running it without cats mess with it?

Just get a high flowing cat and be legal with better sound and power. And I would expect slightly better mileage in a wrangler, but it is less aerodynamic so I wouldnt expect much more.

It's not even close to a bolt inswap. There is no bolt in v8 swap for a YJ.

You're looking at at least having to get new motor mounts and move over the whole computer and wiring harness. Then you will need to research if the fuel pump you have will work for that motor. Will the radiator work? What are you planning to do for a transmission and transfer case? Etc...

There are a lot of write ups on this swap. You should make sure to do your homework and start reading now.
