Problems with the 4 Wheel drive

when i put the jeep on four wheel drive there is this cracking sound the starts (only on low speeds when i speed up it goes away)and when i turn the steering wheel all the way its impossible to move it!

its a 1990 jeep yj 2.5l

nop the car is stock nothing upgraded at all, well not yet at least lol

is your 4wd working or does it seem like it is popping out if so look at the CAD. If your 4wd is working look at the u-joints on your front axle and drive shaft.

is there a way to check all of this while its on the ground and its not rolling or i have to lift it up and make the tires spin

to check the u joints you can do it on the drive shaft with it on the ground the ones on the front axle it would probably be easier to raise a wheel and rotate it back and forth and make sure it is all tight. To test if your 4wd is working I dont know I was having trouble with mine slipping out because of the CAD it was making a loud pop but it only happened under a load and then I could just tell the 4wd was not working.
