Powersteering box bracket bottom bolts spinning free

I was taking out my steering box to por15 and look for holes. I got the 4 bolts to the steering box off and started to take the 2 off of the bottom of the bracket ( bolts that screw into the frame). Both bolts came out about halfway then just started spinning free and not coming out anymore. I think the "nut" on the inside of the frame broke off and is spinning. Has anyone had this issue? Any ideas or do I need to cut the frame to remove and repair?

Were they tough to move and then just spun freely? It is possible that the nut is just spinning around in there. You should be able to hear it if it is.

The only way I can think of to get in there is through the front of the frame. Otherwise you might be in trouble.

They were alittle tough coming out but not to bad. I can't get to them from the front of the frame because the front frame tube blocks it.

If they did break free the metal is pretty thin around there. I would look at something like this:

Question for yall: If the metal was rusted enough for the nut to tear out wouldnt there be a hole in the bottom of the frame? Or is the nut in there more like the body mount nuts? (which I absolutely hate. If I ever meet the guy responsible for those I'll have a few choice words to say.)

Looks like m going to cut the top off of the frame in that section to expose the nuts. Will weld some new nuts into the frame.
