Power steering fluid is preffered but Dexron ATF is acceptable.
Dont use Type F or Mercon it has stuff in it that isnt good for the pump.
And whatever you dont use brake fluid it will cause some real bad leaks

I've noticed up here in Canada on those -40C nights. The power steering fluid gets real thick.
So I use some ATF in there.
Helps keep it from being so thick in the cold. I use what I use in my transfer case +4 I think???

Chryslers new recommendation is atf+4 for power steering now, I'd flush it and use that.
