Im leaking out of the adjusting bolt, on top of the power steering box. Any ideas?

Just a seal going bad. Rebuild kits are available from AZ or Napa for about 20 bucks.

That's the adjustment bolt/allen, not sure if you need to take it all apart, think it simply unscrews, you might get lucky and be able to just pop a new o=ring on there.

INtresting... a rebuild kit eh? That would be fun. For 20 bucks i might as well just rebuild it, for the fun of it. Is it hard to do?

You sure are posting alot tonight...

Heh, catching up Can't sleep.

Yeah the gear is held on by 4 bolts, pretty easy to remove, but if you're just doing that one seal you can do it without removing the steering gear. If you simply want a new one, go to the JY or dealer and get one for a Dakota pickup, exact same part, but 50% cheaper than asking for one for a YJ.

Okay time for stupid questions.

Rebuild kits are 40 bucks.

If i just want the O-ring, i need to take out the old o ring and bring it in. How do i get to it the easiest way?

Oh yeah, autozone thinks im lieing when i say that the power steering box is diffrent than the pump. Am i wrong when i say that or am i right? Always thought they were diffrent.

Im taking the bolts off the steering box right now (the 4 in the picture) in hopes of finding the o-ring.

The rebuild kits are just a bunch of seals and O-rings, I believe. I'll bet if you try to get that seal out, all you'll get is chunks. And you will probably change the adjustment of your steering, unless you can figure out how to put it back to the exact turns before you started.
