Yes, listen to NHfire. I used #4 wire on all connections with 150amp breaker on alt to battery line.

I'm going to get a maxi fuse and holder to put inline to the battery. For now it is running again though.

Well heard from Que89yj. We have PMed a few times now and he agreed with Power Master and their tech support. He said that the pre OBDI systems are done differently that the OBDI systems are.

Long story short it is done.

89 YJ alt wiring

Hi 89YJbuilder,

I am installing a new PM alternator in my YJ. Just to be sure, the BAT terminal on the alternator goes directly to the battery + terminal? The wire currently installed on the alternator BAT terminal goes to the starter relay. My YJ (4.2) does not currently have a wire from the alternator directly to the battery.
