That lift would scare me. I would find some stock tires/rims cheap and stock shackles for the time being. When you can do the lift right. The tranfer will be slingin oil since no tc drop. In my parts they would get 4-5k for it but it is only worth 3 really. If your trade is worth less you'll be doing ok.

Post your trade on cl you'd be amazed at the stuff ppl will send you. lol but you might find a gem too.

and the argument was 2.5 vs 4.2. lol I don't know how we got to 4.0 vs 4.2. The clear answer is 4.7 stroker. rofl

You may be surprised. That's why many are selling their jeep, to get something with better mpg. What I would do is find someone selling one and make a trade offer. Worst they could say is no

Give it some time, you'll find one. I've noticed in my area they are hard to find during the spring/summer. When fall comes around, I start seeing more with better prices/trades.

Wrangler11, I think you made a wise choice. You stated you did not want a project and with the scary lift, cancer spots and the dash wiring I think you would be spending more time and money with the Heep than with your family.

Looks to be a better choice then the first one, but you said you wanted a DD. This is just my opinion, but I don't understand putting V-8's in Jeeps. The 4.0L and 4.2L have more than enough power and torque, with minor adjustments, to rock crawl, trail ride and use as a DD.

would agree especially in a 5. The old cj-5's while great little Jeeps are also more problematic then the newer ones. The newest CJ-5 is still an antique. I would look for death wobble and look to see if the frame "shifts" while turning the tires especially down where the steering box is. As many before me have stated best bet is to decide what you want and then wait til that's what comes along , I realize America has become a must have now society but good things come to those that wait

Everything on it is brand new or rebuilt. You can clearly tell just by looking at it in person. Nothing on is from a cj 5 but the body.

It drives perfect. Had it up to 65 and could control it with one finger.

Not yet. I'm hoping to pick it up tonight. I did not have anyone to go with me yesterday. If I get, even though it's a CJ I will post some pictures for you guys.
