Posi Lock
Why does quadratec sell a different posi-lock kit for lifted yj's than stock ones.

Hmmm. Mine came with one so I'm not 100% sure on this, but the cable lenth could be the factor. I wouldn't think 3" would make too much of a difference, my cable has a lot of room if I wanted it stock height or higher or whatnot. But it is a possibility i suppose

I would say the cable is longer for the lifted jeep

hello. I just bought my jeep and 4x4 does not work. I am almost positive that it is the vacuum system and I emailed the manufacture of posi lok to ask the same question. my jeep is stock except for 1 1/4" shackle lift. I plan on lifting it some day but right now just want my 4x4 to work. they said that the only difference is the cable length. A kit for the lifted jeep will work on a stock jeep also, you will just have more extra cable...

When I bought my Posi-Lok I bought the one with the longer cable ...just in case. I installed the knob under the dash just to the left of the ashtray, then ran the cable through the firewall then over by the back of the air box then down to the front axle to eat up the extra length. Hope that can be of help to you.
