Please help a stupid person! 4X4 light

Hi, I just bought a 90' Jeep wrangler with a 2.5 engine. The 4X4 light does not come on when the transfer case is put into 4X4. I have already researched on the postings on this web site. All 4 vacuum lines from the transfer case to the front axle are rotten and broken in half. I would like to know how much jeep wants for a new set of lines Also where does the transfer case get the vacuum from? (color of line) I hear no vacuum leaks from any of these lines when in 4X4, so I'm wondering if the transfer case is getting vacuum. Also does anyone have experience with Quadratech's manual replacement cable for the vacuum actuator, and does it retain the 4X4 light feature on the dash. I know its a lot to read, but thanks to anyone who can help me. P.S. I ordered a Haynes manual, but it has not gotten here yet, and I am anxious to begin fixing this problem.

Your problem could be as minor as a blown indicator bulb. Remove the dash and replace, sounds easier that it actually is. I replaced all the bulbs on mine to PINK, yes PINK, when one of the bulbs blew. Hey, I had the dash off already , and did not want to do it again anytime soon, so I replaced them all. I am probably the ONLY Jeep that has PINK dash lights.

I had the same thing happen last winter and tried to track down some new vacuum lines. Forget it! I ordered the 4x4 posi-lock system you mentioned and it works great. Yes you do retain the stock 4x4 light. Took all of an hour to install.
