Please Help: 4wd problem, not vacuum related

I know this problem is not vacuum-related, because I've got a Posi-Lok installed, and it does a good job of connecting the two front half-axles.

I often times have difficulty getting the jeep into 4wd. I have to shift the transfer case back and forth several times before it will engage, and even then it will disengage if in a bind.

Is this a t-case problem, a driveshaft problem, or something else?

Any help would be appreciated.
