Plastic weld

Hi guys....I have a 91yj with 1/4in cracks on both sides of the plastic gas tank. I was looking through the threads about using a plastic welder to repair. Anyone have any experience with this repair? Also, does anyone know where I can go get this done without have to purchase a plastic welder? THANKS!!

if you really want to save this tank i would go get that stuff called pc plastic. i've never used it on a gas tank but it works pretty good. every time i have seen people try to use those plastic welders it never worked out right. Just go to any hardware store and they should have it.

There is a chemical out there that will actually fuse the two pieces together. I'd go for that, most big auto stores carry some kind of it, or even ace hardware.

Look into Plastex.net I have used it to repair many plastic parts on my old motorcycle. And many other plastic items. Never had any issues with any of the repaired items
