pilot bushing - quick question/hope for quick answer

I am changing out my pilot bushing and the old type was a roller bushing, the new one is the bronse bushing type but it is much larger than the bearing. Is this correct? The old bearing sat farther in the crank on the second ledge.

Thanks! You guys are awesome!

I should mention that I'm switching from a AX-15 to a NV3550 and the new transmission input shaft is larger diameter, so the bronse bushing has a larger ID than the old bearing.

This seems right, so I'll go ahead and install it this way and report back if I have any problems.

The bushing looks correct, same one I used when doing bA 10 to 3550 conversion.

I always prefer a bushing. Never liked the bearing for the fact that if it decides to lock, then it could gouge up the input shaft pretty bad. The bronze bushing cant simply for the fact bronze isnt as hard as steel. And the bushing will last alot longer.

Thats what I heard about the bushing/bearing debate too. I feel there is one less moving part to break with the bushing.

I know a lot of racers prefer the roller type though.

Thanks for the replies, it seems to fit great!
