Well, what kind of offroading are you going to be doing? Rocks? Mud?

first i don't know how much knowledge of offroading you hav, but if you are still learning to offroad i would definately recommend not going with 40 - 44's. The cost to fit 40's would included lifting your suspension a good 2-4" (depending on the amount of body lift, fender mods, etc), and then additionally doing an SOA conversion, or going to coil springs... also you would need new axles (unless you want to break an exle every other day), regearing, new driveshaft, etc... the list goes on
. So unless you want to spend tons of money on a vehicle that you wont even be able to use properly (if you are infact still a novice) i would recommend something a little more modest. If you are intent on lifting your jeep, 33" and 35" tires are more standard sizes and they still look beefy, which i am geussing is what you are looking for. and for those size tires there are multiple routes which you could take in order to fit them, it matters how much money you want to spend and how much offroad functionality you want out of the jeep. that's my opinion

Lemme see what I can dig up off the HD. Here is one that is pretty nice, but I'm sure it's not a show Jeep.

44's on the red YJ and black TJ. And I think 42's on the Blue Jeep with the Warn sticker.

Thought the tops ones might have been 44's.
Thanks for the info. I"m planning a build in the summer and I'm looking into tire sizing as well. Probably gonna stay somewhere in the 38-40 range 44's are a little too big for me I think. I still want to drive mine on the street as well. lol.
