Passed the NJ state vehicle inspection

Just thought I would pass this on for any jeepers in NJ.

Passed today in the normal inspection. Inspector said my height was at the limit for the normal inspection. Anything higher would need to go to the lifted vehicle inspection. This is the 3rd time I have passed in this configuration over the last 5 years.

I run the same setup on my 95...4" RC and 33"x12.50.....no BL.

Just got turned down on Thursday at Mays Landing for regular inspection. No point in arguing with the guy, what am I gonna do, force him to inspect my rig??

Had to make an appointment in Winslow...for three weeks from now .

There's still no charge but the time, travel, fuel....Oh well, get to do the tilt test...

I was 1/4" above height. I went home and swapped on my neighbors 31s took it back. After all of that, they were backed up and didnt even check my emissions. I got my sticker, but I did a lot of work to get it running right. Amazing that they'll bust your chops over 1/4" and then not give a hoot if you pollute.

I don't mind the inspection system as long as it is applied evenly across the board. I like knowing the guy coming the other way is driving a vehicle that has met basic safety standards.

I could have swapped in my OEM tires and rims (still have em) but that's not how my rig is configured every other day of the week. I'll play by the rules...just carve the rules in stone so we all know them!

The inspector opened my driver's door and measured to the bottom of the door....they allow 3" of lift and 1" for tires, total 4" over stock. He considered stock to be 24". Add the 4" allowed and anything over 28" needed High Rise inspection. Bottom of my door measured 30 1/2".

I found this site from the NAXJA ( North America XJ Association). This is a great site to help understand the lift laws in the Great State of NJ..http://home.comcast.net/~kayaker121/NJLiftLaws.html They are looking for the measurements for other non XJ Jeeps so drop them a line about the sill height...
