Papa Smurf Coilover Conversion at Poison Spyder

Some of you are familiar with Papa Smurf, our YJ R&D mule and trail rig. It actually belongs to a good friend of the shop, who bought it from Larry, the owner of Poison Spyder, a while back. But its still one of our flagships so we thought it was due for a little freshening up. I can already hear the leaf spring purists groaning LOL...

Anyhow for those who don't know Papa Smurf, you may have noticed it on the cover of the current issue of 4WDSU:

We've used it quite a bit in our own YJ product development, product photography, etc.

So let's get started!

They're Currie Rock Jock 60's. They're not new to Papa Smurf, they've been on the rig for a few years already.

Very nice. I'm still digging the fenders by the way.

Larry mentioned to me you guys were working on a YJ Hi-line DeFender, think those will be replacing the current DeFenders on here?

This is something I would like to see.

Adopt your pets. Don't shop for them.

well, not hardly...

whilst I love my YJ, my bad back doesn't love leaf springs that much any more! I've been seriously considering trading to something coiloverish that would have a softer ride (coilover LJ ), but if you guys have got something going that won't take a rocket scientist to build and install, and is affordable... then I'm very curious to see the results.
