Out of Stock SYE... bumming

Bummed to find out JB Conversions is out of stock on the super short SYE and will be for quite some time. Bummed out I wanted to have my rig on the road and done by the end of the month. Now Ill have the new trans in and have to drop it yet again later this summer to put the new SYE in.....

I cant find a short SYE that seems to come close to what JB offers in there product.. Anybody know of something as or about as good

it's unfortunate, but common with JB and their SS-SYE... I forget which piece (shaft or housing) but one of them is outsourced... fine as long as the quality is consistent, but you'd think they'd do a better job planning ahead being this isn't the first time it's happened... though I'm surprised it happened THIS early in the year - usually it's around may-june they go on backorder. I guess everybody jumped on it with their tax refunds knowing past backorder issues. Glad I got my order in when I did

No, that link for Amazon is no where near... that's your joe-basic standard length SYE.

I think Tera makes a short one... not quite as short as JB, and from what I've heard, not quite the quality.... but I haven't heard anything horrible about it. I guess if you MUST have extra short, it's not a bad alternative given the preferred will be unavailable for an unknown length of time.

yes, Tera does... just found it: http://www.teraflex.biz/231-extreme-short-shaft.html

Good luck

With 5" of lift a stardard sye will work fine if you cant come up with the super short one. I ran an advance adaptets hd one for years with 5" without any issues.

Ive read a few bad reviews about rugged ridge products. Im not sure I want to leave my drive line up to questionable reviews.

Its really a shame about JB, seems they have a great product and a demand for it.

I am currently looking at the TeraFlex kit. Might start a thread on it to see what people are saying....

From what I can see the AA kit works for the old mechanical speedo

Look again. It may not be as short as the JB kit, but it's about 2-3" shorter than a "standard" SYE.

I agree with the comment about rugged ridge though. I don't really have any better opinion of Tera either after reading about multiple failures of their d300 and d20 low gear kits.
