Opinion on Black Diamond Lifts
Just out of curiosity, what does everyone think of the Black Diamond 1.5" SUA lift kits? I'll probably get 2.5" RE lift, but I'm just curious why no one mentions this lift because it is inexpensive. Is it rough country quality or what?

My guess would be that seldom do folks want to lift their Jeep 1.5" while SUA.

I just don't think they are that popular. You can probably pay the same price for something else with a proven product. Its kind of like how would a car manufacture beat Honda? You can't make your vehicles just as good, they have to be better, cost less, and have better customer service than Honda.
That being said, I have ran into a few people who have run them and said they haven't hand any complaints. I looked at black diamond when I was in the market, but I went with BDS instead becuase I could get it for a cheaper price through DC4WD and research told me that they had a proven product.

I have Superlift springs and i have no complaints. My jeep rides better than it did before i lifted it. Maybe someone will chime in on Superlift and Black Diamond relationship...

It's VERY easy to get 1.5" for WAY under that price w/out using aftermarket springs. So unless you need to replace sagged-out springs, most folks going for that much lift do it using other means (BL, Shackles, etc) & fit 31" or 32" tires.
The 2.5-3.5" kits seem most popular, since you can add one of those other small-lift options & fit much larger tires than stock w/out having to address a host of driveline mods due to geometry changes.

My reasons for going with a mild lift are many. First, I don't want to have to mess around with driveline angles, CV driveshafts, SYE's, etc. Second, my wheeling doesn't take me places where I would need more than a couple inch lift. Third, it's my DD, and I don't want to completely kill my gas mileage, and lastly, I have to replace my negative arch springs.
If your goal isn't to fit xx" tires, I think a small lift suits many people...

I guess I'm also looking for reviews from anyone who has a Black Diamond lift. Is it quality or does it sag like the old RC lifts?

For what it's worth I was told by 4WheelParts that Black Diamond although owned by Superlift is made by Rancho. I have Black Diamond A/T shocks (and they seem fine), but a RE Standard lift. Whether there's any truth to Rancho making BD, it still seems like a good product, just not as popular as some of the others. That specific lift you were looking at looks decent to me, but it looks like you still need shocks, so it will cost you even more...

Okay my bad, it looks like you maybe do get shocks with it, so it is a pretty good deal. Try it and post a review of your own

I had the 3.5" Black Diamond on my 94 when I had it. At the time, I bought it because it was one of the cheaper lifts and I didn't have the money or the patience to get something better. That being said, once I had it, I never had any complaints or problems with the lift. In my experience, it actually flexed pretty decent in the rear... tore up the flares a little actually and had to get a 2" body for it.

I have had Black Diamond's 1.5" for 2 months now.
kit came with shocks and U-bolts, a Tcase drop, bushings for the leafsprings, shims for caster correction on front springs and ofcourse, all 4 springs. my factory springs were sagged beyond all hope, and I didn't want to move up to 31s, but the sagging springs were making my 30s look stuffed, so this kit seemed perfect and so far I really like it. After the install I measured 20.4" at the rocker(not sure what stock was, but the FAQ says 18").
