i actually used some 11G i had lying around(everyting i used i had in the garage so the whole skid was free for me)

11G ends up being like 1/8 i think and its too thin. i knew it was going to be when i built it but its def better than replacing an oil pan(the whole reason i had to build a skid cause i did that once)

i went out wheeling today(i play in rocks) and i bashed it pretty good. its a little bent and scratched to S*** but it saved my pan so it worked.

i might pull it and add some more angle on the inside to brace it more, then eventually probably just make one out of 3/16" or 1/4"

Nope. But we should be up the week after for the Friday night and Sunday crawl. Might be on the NEA poker run also, not sure yet.

Here's some photos.

It does not go behind the oil pan to hook into the transaxle skid. I have the FabTech plate there. That has a sloped front lip so if you kiss a rock with the oil pan skid, you'll also kiss it with the transaxle lip. Smooth would be nice but I have a 4 cylinder, save weight. Yeah, that must be why, right? :- )

And hey, check out the photo. That was brand spanking new a week ago, looks like it took a rock already. Glad I put it on...

Thanks paint....Looks like it did the job!

Gonna try to fab up the full length one this week. Also protects the exhaust x -over...Don't care to rip off my exhuast and damage the exhaust manifold...

Always found the head pipe routing on the stock YJs are a little un tasteful. I made mine go around the oil pan instead of under it.

Pics later, as we are heading out for a 2 days on the trails...Damn head pipe hangs way too low...Had to shim it up and the plate down for now...
