I got a chance to take the YJ out wheeling some last night. It was awesome.

There was plenty of mud and loose terrain, and I was definitely being rough with it. I was in 4HI and 4LO for most of the trail.

After stopping in a parking lot afterward I noticed the Jeep smelled like something was burning. It usually smells like that after I've been using the 4WD a lot, but nothing has ever happened because of it. Is this something I should worry about?

I found out that it wont go over rocks taller than the front bumper:

I'm going to pull it back with the help of one of our tractors. I kind of want to replace it now but I think it's still got a few hits in it.

Should I cut the ends off?

if you cut the ends off you will have to move the lights obviously. but it wont hurt anything. when mine got bent i just took a big hammer and pounded it back into shape.

If you want to replace it I have a TJ Front bumper already modified to fit a YJ. In great shape.

I'll work it out with the chains and a hammer, but thanks. I have some upcoming plans that are using my current Jeep funds.

Have you bought another Jeep yet?

Not yet, that is in the works though. May be getting something after the first of the year.
