October YJOTM Pants off Dance off Sudden death match

Alright guys, we had a bit of a tie according to my calculations and its time for a winner to emerge.

Username: Navman
YJ year of production: 1995
Specs and Mods:
engine: Ford Mustang 5.0
fuel injected, Novak headers & motor mounts
transmission: NP 435 4 speed
Zoom kevlar clutch, Novak slave & tcase adapter
transfer case: Atlas 4 speed 5.44
front axle: Spidertrax Spider 9
True Hi9 diff, ARB locker, RCV axles (35 spline inner, JK 32 spline outers), dana30 knuckles, Teraflex highsteer knuckle, JK unit bearings, 5.14 gears
rear axle: Explorer 8.8
Superior super88 axle kit, ARB locker, 5.14 gears, Riddler cover
wheels: Spyderlock beadlocks
tires: BFG 39" Krawlers
steering: Bulletproof tierod & draglink w/hiems, PSC steering box, PSC Ppump
front suspension: Rock Krawler Xfactor 3 link
ORI stx struts, custom strut tower
rear suspension: custom 4 link
ORI stx struts, modified Ruff Stuff truss, upper link mount & 1.25" hiems, custom links & lower link mounts, modified Rock Krawler upper frame mounts, custom strut towers
additional stuff: custom roll cage, custom rear frame, GenRight ext gas tank & skid, Mastercraft seats, Superwinch epi 9.0, CNC cutting brakes

Brief history: This jeep started out as a $500 worn out stocker. Found Jeep Forum and started researching for ideas. I wheeled it for a year with a rubi 4.5" lift and 35's before really tearing into it. I found a "new" frame and started the next transformation, v8 and 3 link front. As my addiction kept growing so did the jeep. I spent forever learning about 4 link suspension and designed and fabbed the rear setup I currently have now. I also designed and fabbed the new custom cage to keep me safe with all this new capability. I have to thank my friend Kenny for doing all the welding on the rig since day one, and Mark for machining those must have parts. Hope you all like it.

TDIJ
1993 YJ

ENGINE:
1.9L Volkswagen TDI turbo diesel

DRIVELINE:
-Toyota G52 transmission
-Dual Toyota transfer cases, one at 2.28:1 and one at 4.7:1
-Twin stick rear case for 2Low
-Toyota 8 IFS rear axle: spool
-Toyota 8 front axle: IFS hubs and calipers, Tacoma rotors, lock-right, Yukon birfield eliminator chromoly shafts with Dana 44 U-joints
-4.88 gears with 35 Mickey Thompson MTZ

SUSPENSION/STEERING:
-No lift
-Toyota rear offset leafs front and rear
-Front anti stretch, and rear stretch totaling ~98 wheelbase
-Toyota IFS V6 steering box, DOM and heim joint linkage

BODY:
-High lined stock front fenders, aggressively trimmed to 2 following the curve of the hood
-High lined rear, custom inner fender wells
-Boat sides
-Custom Flat skid plate
-Custom transmission tunnel to allow for flat belly without body lift
-Frame shortened about 7 inches in front
-Raked grill, pushed out on the bottom

FUTURE PLANS:
-Cage it
-Re-mount winch behind bumper/grill
-Custom aluminum front fenders and rear flares
-Spring over in rear without lifting the jeep
-Custom rear cross member/bumper with aluminum swing up tire carrier

I had built my YJ to 35s and ~5 lift and was heading towards tons and a Cummins. After some time wheeling it hard, and retiring it from DD duty due to the 12mpg, I decided to take it in a unique direction. My goal was to lower it substantially while minimizing the downsides of the LCG build. I wanted a Jeep that would be capable of hardcore trails yet still reasonably pleasant on the road and affordable enough to make my DD again. My jeep now rides and handles significantly better and gets 27mpg. The only thing stock is the brake master cylinder (for now) and the square headlights (forever)!

I hope the pictures in the poll don't upset anyone. I'm a little loopy on medication at the moment.

Both of these rigs are amazing, so whoever wins, deserves it.

Do everything with a positive attitude, it won't always work but you'll piss enough people off to make it worthwhile.

the voices aren't real but they sure have good ideas.

You may not like guns, and choose not to own one. That is your right. You may not believe in God. That is your choice. However, if someone breaks into your home the first two things you are going to do are: 1) Call someone with a gun. 2) Pray to God they get there in time.
