oba.. what size tank and where did ya mount it?

it seems as if the 2.5gal or the 1.75 gallon are the ones out there .. i was thinking about mounting it in front of the gas tank ..but i am not sure if i have enough room for the 2.5gallon..

does anyone have pics? i am planning to buy on monday and need to know.
thanks

Before you put it ahead of the gas tank, make sure your diff. housing won't come up & smash it. That was my first thought, too. But, I ended up making special bracket's and hanging it between the frame & tranny.

I have my 6x6x18" hotdog mounted in front of the gas tank. You'll really want to make sure you have room though. Unless you're jumping your Jeep the rear diff shouldn't move upwards that much. I was thinking about mounting it parallel to the driveshaft but the floor is uneven and the tank would be slightly lower then the frame rail. A 1" body lift would ahve solved this though.

Honestly, if I was going to do it again, I'd get two smaller tanks, 1.25 & 1.75 gallon, and run one parallel to the rear driveshaft and one offset in front of the diff.

I agree with Jeffy on doing two tank's. Especially if you haven't bought one, yet. Next time, I think I will look into some old fire extinguisher or welding tank's that might be longer, but smaller in diameter. Or, make my own out of pipe. Heck, even PVC will hold up at 125psi . My shop has had about 200' of PVC airlines in it for 24 year's with no problem's.

I used two fire extinguishers that I got for free. In the pic it looks like the tanks hang down below the frame rails but it doesnt hang down at all. I used some 1" wide steel stock to wrap the tanks and mounted them to the bottom of the tub. It works pretty well. I just need to order the components to control the compressor now.
