Congratulations on your victory. Your YJ is a sweet rig with quite a few personal upgrades that add greatly to the functionality. You have made excellent use of minor mods to enhance to YJ and make it a very trail worthy wheeling machine. Congrats again.

Definitely one of the best looking YJ's on this site. Congrats on the win.

Note the stickers
I used some double sided tape made by 3M. It's super sticky!

The drivetrain was moved 4 inches forward. I needed to extend the shifter so I came up with this. It's a coupler nut and a bolt that I cut the head off of.
Plus with the comfy grip of Elvis's head it's a blast to row thru the gears.

Now for the LS6 swap!!

I love a Jeep like this where the owner isn't afraid to chop it up to make it his/her own, but yet it isn't a butchered rust bucket either. Two thumbs up man, and the patriotic grill gets the extra thumbs up from me!

Congratulations. Your YJ is built well and still holds a nice clean yet rugged style. I like those front and rear fender/flares.

Nice looking Yj there!

One question: I notice you aren't running a track or sway bar yet your springs move in 3 dimensions. The main argument for removing them is that the springs only move up and down and not side to side, but yours do. Do you notice any dangerous handling on the roads at speed?

None at all! I have not had them for years. I don't miss them.

You do get a bit more nose dive under hard braking. Other than that there is not much of a change.
You can always take off one side of the track bar. (axle side) and use some wire to keep it from banging around. Drive it around for a week or so and see if you notice any change. If you don't like it, it's just one bolt to put back.
Same goes for the sway bars.

I have no desire to swap the motor. Either you like the 2.5L or you don't. I happen to like it.
Plus with the V8 I'd need to get some D60's. It took me 2 years to gather the parts for the front D44. It would take 5 years for a D60. Plus I'd need to change my user name
As far as chopping it up, sometimes I had second thoughts but once you start cutting your committed. Sometimes it's the little things that set a Jeep apart from all the rest.

Here is where my sway bar ended up.

Just another jeeper saying, wow. What did you use to cut those vents on the hood and did you build that sweet cross member yourself?

I'm guessing the vents are the product of some quality time with an assortment of hole saws. Very unique and stealthy: I thought they were painted on until somebody posted that they were vents.

I really dig your tire carrier, being supported not solely on the bumper. I've never been a fan of all that weight being supported so low. I may borrow elements of your design once I get around to making one.

Congrats!
